OPUS is a software system that was developed to process incoming
data in a pipeline through modular software elements. Users could
control individual elements, tailor the software to handle diverse
types of data (astronomical, genomic, other experimental data),
and run multiple processes to maximize efficiency.
OPUS was originally developed to handle and manage data from the
Hubble Space Telescope and subsequently was used for a variety of astronomical
and other types of science data. A description of OPUS is available in the
Bibliography, but STScI no longer actively supports OPUS.
