Independent Detector Testing Laboratory (IDTL)
The Independent Detector Testing Lab (IDTL) was established to provide
impartial characterization of infrared detectors. The lab is operated
by STScI under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Johns Hopkins
University. The IDTL provides uniform measurements of detector parameters
such as dark current (vs. time and temperature), gain, wavelength
response, read noise, interpixel mapping among a few.
The IDTL also provides comparative studies between detectors using
a standardized suite of tests.
